Public to get first crack at mockup of new Red Line car next month
By adamg on Mon, 07/16/2018 - 10:02am
MBTA General Manager Luis Manuel Ramirez posted a couple of photos of the Red Line mockup the T received hot off the boat from China (don't worry - the real cars will be longer and have more doors); says that after T engineers give the thing a thorough inspection, it'll be put up somewhere for public viewing.

Yay they got the (T) logo right this time!
Maybe they'll get the author right too

Let's stress test those
Let's stress test those straps!
Amazing
A rare photo of a Red Line car that isn't moving

They are getting really good at these mock ups.
A red Line Train. Not moving. In one spot...
Anyhow. There must be a shuttle bus to get you to the mock up.
The first reply to the GM's tweet
They need to loop announcements inside.
"Standing by for scheduling adjustments."
"Stopped due to traffic ahead."
"Signal problems at Harvard."
Etc.
Don't forget
"Mass. Eye and Ear Infirmary" in the most ear-piercing voice imaginable.
I always assumed
That on days the Ear Infirmary had a light schedule, they'd blast that message to drum up a little walk-in business
And "Next Stop, Ashmont" as you head north
and on
Meet the new car
same as the old car
