State Police: Dorchester man stops in the middle of the turnpike, jumps on hood of bus behind him

State Police report they are continuing to try to figure out what the hell the guy was trying to prove yesterday afternoon.

According to State Police, a 42-year-old Dorchester man, not named because he has not been charged with anything "at this time," was driving his Corolla westbound on the turnpike in Newton when he braked to a stop in the middle lane yesterday.

The driver of an empty school bus behind him managed to stop in time.

The man then exited his vehicle and attempted to gain access to the bus by the side entry door, but was denied access by the bus operator.

The bus operator attempted to drive away, but the man walked in front of the bus and jumped up on the hood. Eventually the man got off the hood and the bus driver was able to drive away.

State Police report they know who the driver is and that "this investigation is ongoing."

Right, acting as crazy as a shit house rat until he sees the bus driver pointing to the dash camera and he calms right down.

Foxnew 25 had the interview of the driver

A mental health evaluation if hopefully ordered for this guy once he is charged (if he is charged). Something is off with him, the anger and behavior is creepy.

According to NECN, he said something like "how come your windows are covered?" (or closed, or dark, or some adjective that I can't remember at the moment.)

Sure, stop a school bus in the middle lane of the mass Pike. Of course this clown has no authority to stop anyone e for anything. What could possibly go wrong?

Another web site, intentionally not mentioned by name, had more insight into this. The claim is that the bus driver's history is screwier even than the car driver's apparent behavior, which may at least explain why state police are investigating instead of jumping to a too easy conclusion as some commenters here seem inclined to. BTW I'm not affiliated in any way, just an occasional reader who prefers to take in news from a wide variety of sources, always with a healthy sense of skepticism. Posting anonymously now only to avoid even the appearance of my Universalhub handle somehow equating to a relationship with or endorsement of that site, which to reiterate, doesn't exist.

State Police update that he got a summons for

1. Disorderly Conduct
2. Negligent Operation of a Motor Vehicle
3. Failure to Use Care in Stopping
4. Marked Lanes Violation

And State Police have asked the Registry to revoke his license as "an immediate threat."

The guy may very well be a truly horrible person, but I haven't seen anything to suggest yet that had anything to do with the turnpike incident.

The bus driver's history has shit all to do with anything here. You don't pull this shit on the pike!

And your not going to tell us the name of that web site?

Subsequent news reports say that the guy is Kevin Crowe, and he made an appearance in Uhub 10 years ago:

More recent report about this week's incident:

https://whdh.com/news/dorchester-man-explains-why-he-jumped-on-top-of-sc...

In recent weeks he has been seen in Fields Corner, targeting homestead cafe in particular by yelling that "this place is ruining the neighborhood" among other things. We did let it go so far (we get our fair share of odd behaviors around here), but now that he has proven that he can be a danger to others and to himself, I just reported him to the police. Let's hope that he'll get proper treatment somehow.
