Two charged with shooting, beating teen to death in Codman Square; more sought

Two Dorchester men were arrested today on charges they murdered Chad O'Connor, 17, on Kenwood Street last month, as part of an attack in which O'Connor was both shot and beaten, Boston Police and the Suffolk County District Attorney's office report.

Authorities are continuing to hunt additional suspects who may have been involved in O'Connor's murder around 5:30 p.m. on Jan. 14.

Rishaard Sheppard and Branden Singleton-Legget, both 18, were arrested this afternoon. Singleton-Leggett is also charged with stomping somebody on Jan. 17, authorities say. According to police and the DA's office:

The two are accused to taking part in a group attack during which O’Connor was beaten and shot at about 5:30 pm on Kenwood Street. Investigators believe other assailants may have been involved; they urge anyone with additional information to share it with homicide detectives at 617-343-4470.
