Mystery camera in Jamaica Plain

A concerned citizen files a 311 complaint about the camera watching the municipal parking lot behind Centre Street:

There are what appear to be privately owned cameras and surveillance equipment mounted to a city owned light pole and next to a city street sign at Burroughs Place and Burroughs Street.

then set up ANOTHER cam across the street to catch whoever comes to fix it

It's been there for well over a year, and is actually pointed at the 7 Burroughs Street construction project (not the municipal parking lot). My guess is that the contractors had some equipment stolen and installed the camera to keep an eye on things.

It looks more like the gun fire detectors set up by the police department to help them locate where gun fire has happened.

Maybe not, a lot of them are owned by a utility, constructed by Boston Edison or NET and now maintained by Eversource or Verizon.

That's an Arlo brand camera, and it has the optional solar panel off to the side to keep it charged.

They are fully wireless.

If it's the Arlo Go, it even sends the video via LTE.
