T pre-announces delays, what with that sun set to blaze

You won't be the only one suffering in the heat this weekend. The MBTA cautions:

High temps can take a toll on people & trains alike. With extreme heat forecasted, we’re on the lookout for impacts to our rails & overhead wires, faulty A/C, & station ventilation. This weather brings the potential for delays as trains may travel slowly as a precaution.

Thank the lord that all the SUV's that transit police and managers drive are air conditioned.

You're mad that they studied, applied for and got those jobs?. It's nice out, go play ball in the park.

T police and managers enjoy much, much better conditions than the paying customers, who also studied, applied for, and got jobs that pay for the fares and taxes that keep the T running.

Is not me

that just playing baseball in a public park is a feasible alternative to, e.g., working all weekend at jobs to and from which public transit is the only affordable option.

there is no other choice at this point

rip up every track line, junction, and switch and pave it all over to handle hybrid/electric buslines and leave actual rail for the commuter lines

there is simply no way to fix what is wrong without ripping out the entire system

its embarrassing how our "leaders" are completely inept and unable to grasp the seriousness nor the futility of trying to make this work as is

Yeah an electric bus will do the trick - they have the capacity and will fit into the subway tunnels too.

Im ranting here!!! lol

That is my point though.

There is no possible way to fix the existing system.

Our lines dont match and nothing is interchangeable, making repairs and maintenance insanely expensive.

We need to look at modern auto manufacturing and how a massive company like VW has decided to go to a "skateboard" platform across it's entire line as well as many of the 12 other car companies it owns.

will be the worst affected.

High temperatures affect the rails physically. My guess is that the lines will have their speed limited over the weekend.

Weather affects transportation, all over the world. It happens.

they blame;

the snow in the winter,
the thaw in the spring,
the heat in the summer,
and the wet %$@&#!@ leaves in the fall.

That transit agencies all over the world blame.

cold weather in the winter
flooding in the spring,
heat in the summer, and
leaves in the fall.

Now, when trains keep on breaking down because they are old enough to run for President, that's on the T.

I understand the anger and frustration, but you have no clue what you're talking about and this is a terrible post.

Plus, why leave the delay-plagued commuter lines on rails? Buses for everyone!

Meaning, hot and humid, or I suppose breezy and temperate, cool and raining, sleet, blizzards or really just about any kind of weather that might occur in New England. After all the MBTA can and will crap out in any climate conditions.

and every other thing under the sun. But lets be reasonable: extreme weather conditions cause obvious and legit problems.

The painfully slow trains. The stop and go. Stop and go. 'Scheduled Adjustments', etc. are the real pain in the ass. And some of that is due to being overly cautious in an attempt to avoid liability.
