If it doesn't bother the members of this historic organization, why does it bother you so much? You don't think the members are smart enough to be offended on their own? They need you to tell them what's offensive?
Well, when it was founded, way back in 1909 I think, the word "colored" was one of the more polite forms of address for African Americans at that time. And, if I may make the assumption, there are some very good reasons why the organization wishes to retain the word "colored" in their organization's name.
But, hey, why don't contact the organization's chairperson and suggest that item for their agenda and let us know what he or she says?

Awesome
I genuinely hope there is a bouncy castle at this convention.
Bouncy Castle?
I can think of a few scientific meetings where that would have livened things up considerably!
Excellent
Welcome NAACP. The people attending can now witness in person that Boston is not a racist city.
Re: Sure...
Good luck with that. I guess that's why black grad students don't settle here.
Fun fact
Former South Boston high principal Jerome Winegar was a member of the NAACP.
Walk from Roxbury to Fenway
Cross Tremont. Get back to us if Boston is racist.
Funner fact
The oldest chapter of the NAACP is located in Boston.
Welcome, colored people!
First on the agenda should be changing the name to something other than "colored people".
Why?

Colored people? Did you mean
Colored people? Did you mean people of color?

At the Hynes, the BCEC, or somewhere else?
Honestly?
Probably Seaport
Good!
I truly hope that Boston will be on its best behavior. Let's warmly welcome our guests.
