Brockton man charged with murder at a Dorchester house party in June

Cristian Rivera, 21, was arraigned on charges he fatally shot Malik Gabbidon, 19, of Jamaica Plain, outside a house party on Thane Street in Dorchester early on June 23, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports.

According to the DA's office, the two got into a fight inside 26 Thane St. shortly before 1:30 a.m., a fight that spilled outside:

Others followed outside, but only the defendant and victim walked toward Harvard Street. And then shots were fired.

Witnesses approached and found the victim, fatally wounded, and the defendant was gone.

Rivera was arrested in Brockton yesterday, according to the DA's office.
