It's been many decades since I read Jack London novels (which I loved at the time), but if I remember correctly, The Call of the Wild was about a dog, or a wolf, or a wolfdog, or something like that. I don't remember London ever writing about coyotes, so your headline is a zoological muddle. Woof!
