I had no idea a senior citizen was a Red Sox pitcher.

I mean, a lot of people keep insisting that only old people are seriously impacted by coronavirus, so ergo...

Humor and word choice in selecting “ergo” make me think it’s highly unlikely that you have ever been mistaken as a good time.

I bet if I bothered to check your comment history, you'd be one of those "only old people are at risk" jerks.

This isn't working out. Entire teams in quarantine (or should be); cancelled series; young men getting heart damage. Trying to pretend they can actually have a baseball season is just going to cause a lot of grief, and they're going to have to give it up.

I agree - the MLB must admit they were wrong and end the season; then, they should take steps from the NHL and NBA and see how they prepared for their games - they will come out much better than MLB did.

I figure the reason why MLB wanted to have a 60 game season was because they thought COVID-19 would be tamped down enough. They also wanted the fan revenue they were sorely missing, which is impossible as fans aren't allowed in the stadium.

At least next February, we'll hopefully see the truck to Fort Myers depart.

Due to the fact that they are playing in the Great White North, I'm giving the NHL the best odds of actually finishing their season.

There are already commercials for the NFL openers. Is this for comic relief? I'm not laughing.

They are also restricted to two venues, not continuing to tour the country.

NBA and NHL hav a chance to finish existing seasons in a bubble.

A new full season for a team sport, hard to see in the near term (NFL not even worth discussing).

Economics work for NBA and NHL bubbles right now as most of players salaries were already paid.

With full fans in the stands unlikely until 2023 (realistic good case), some painful labor negotiations in store before full seasons resume, even if we get super lucky and some limited travel is feasible next year

You know almost 'everyone else' handled this better the US did, right? At least among our peer group of world class nations, excepting Brazil and Mexico (also run by willfully ignorant populists, hmm.)

Seriously, do you think the situation right now in the USA is the best we could have hoped for? For real?

Damn dude, have a little more optimism for our country. Better leadership and we could be way better off.
