Governor's order will extinguish Boston Lights early, disappointing many zoo visitors

Because Governor Baker's new business early closing order includes zoos, the Franklin Park Zoo is now forced to cancel and refund all 9 pm and 9:30 pm tickets for the final 10 days of Boston Lights: A Lantern Experience.

The zoo says:

Due to this new health and safety order, we must close the zoo at 9:30 p.m beginning on November 6. All ticket buyers for the 9:00 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. timeslots will be contacted via e-mail and will be refunded.
...
We understand the disappointment this causes, especially for so many who were looking forward to attending Boston Lights. We are disappointed too. Unfortunately, we aren't able to extend Boston Lights or add capacity to the earlier timeslots. As part of the health and safety measures in place to combat COVID, we are required to manage strict capacity limits.

The state has so far given no explanation of any mechanism by which turning away late-night zoo visitors will reduce transmission of the Covid-19 virus.

I would never have known that the virus only becomes a threat after 9:30 PM if it weren't for our brilliant governor. I've been needlessly wearing a mask at work all day when the virus was sleeping in!

What if we pretended that he never said those words. And then, we realized that he actually never said or suggested such a thing.

When the speed limit sign says 55, that doesn't mean you will die as soon as you hit 56.

Arguing against something that wasn't the original position, because it is an easier argument to win, is the definition of straw man.

Those that take COVID seriously will continue to do so even without the evening curfew. Except now they won't get to enjoy the zoo at night either.

Those that think COVID is fake or not serious will continue to spread with impunity, irrespective of any order or proclamation from Baker or anyone else. They probably weren't going to the zoo anyway. (More fun to hang out with other maskless friends.)

The zoos had argued that Governor Patrick’s cut would require them to close their two zoos, and that some animals might have to be euthanized. -- Boston Globe, August 2009

How long before these absurd lockdowns lead to budget cuts and the renewed threat to "put down" MA zoo animals? Don't laugh, this occurred under Baker's fellow lib predecessor. We've been told for months that open air activity is ok, now this nonsense? Enough already!

the whole thing was supposed to vanish on November 4th? Did you forget that part of your own conspiracy theory?

It can't vanish until Fox News confirms who wins the election.
