Doesn't look like they tried to stop?
No skidding and from the angle of the car, they just drove straight down Calumet without turning at all at this intersection. I'd assume they must have passed out for some reason? Scary. Hopefully they lose their license for medical or criminal negligence reasons.
Passed out?
They were probably on Facebook.
accident
Thank you all for being so considerate of the driver. He had a medical episode that caused him to hit the house. He's not a "criminal". I appreciate your
thoughts and prayers as he recovers from his injuries.
And people ask...
Why can't I just drive to the golf course or the beach or whatever. Because you might hit a house (or a store) and end up in the hospital where they don't need you ever, but right now in particular!
Agreed
Especially when you displace 8 people AND force a gas worker to come out for repairs that wouldn't have been needed otherwise.
Doesn’t look like
That building has a safety vest on, and it probably was wearing headphones.
Maybe their brakes failed?
It's been known to happen on Mission Hill. Hope they are OK.
BTW, ruined a very nice flowering shrub too.

Owned cars for 50 years
NEVER had the brakes "just fail". There were always warning signs.
That's 1960s bullshit. You usually get plenty of warning in a modern car if you are paying attention to your maintenance and how the car drives.
Mission Hill fire truck brake failure
Some of us with long memories remember this tragedy.
That was awful and on a very steep hill
this particular section of Calumet is flat.
Yup
Oh, and that's why you have an emergency brake.
Can't blame this one on Dennis Flynn
He passed away 10+ years ago I think.
Tough break for local drivers
You hit a pedestrian and it slows your car down, but with them all at home and not crossing the street, your momentum carries you right into a building
