Adam Castiglioni reports One Financial Center - the tower across the street from South Station, was lit up in Lakers purple and gold tonight.
The Garden was also lit up:
Tonight, we join the sports community by glowing purple and gold.

But rape is still rape and I cannot ignore that fact because he died tragically. I'll mourn the innocent children and adults of course.

Maybe it's the cynical part of me, but would he have done so much philanthropic work if his reputation wasn't in the s-hole? What does it say that a man can do what he wants with women and buy his redemption? Everyone seemingly forgetting the horrible thing that was done. And you, a victim, get to watch as the whole of the general public lifts him up as almost god like.

Death and accidents seem to absolve people of all wrongdoing somehow. In 2011 comedian Tracey Morgan was raked over the coals for saying if he found out his son was gay he would "take out a knife and stab him". If cancel culture had been in full swing back then he would have been obliterated then and there. But then Morgan had a near fatal car accident and when he recovered and made a comeback he was lauded for his strength of character and perseverance and was given standing ovations and practically hailed as the second coming of comedy. What hypocrisy.

Those were allegations, the charges were dropped. Would you like to be remembered for something someone accused you of instead of the good you've done? Kobe was a role model for millions of people and spent his retirement coaching kids and donating his time and money. KOBE BRYANT WAS NEVER CONVICTED OF RAPE and that's the first thing you bring up? What of kind of person are you? He cheated on his partner by a con and it cost him millions and he still is considered a rapist. Did you only read the headlines and not follow up on the story? Obviously you only know his name because of the allegations because if you knew even the slightest thing about him you wouldn't be calling him a rapist. It's unbelievable that people judge him by an accusation instead of the widely known positive impact he had on the world. I bleed Celtics' Green but losing Kobe hurts and you people make me sick.

I never liked the guy. It's absolutely tragic still for the 9 people who died, Kobe included. But yes there is a conflicting legacy he leaves behind. These allegations and the reason Shaq and him had a falling out, if you remember, were disturbing indictments on the man's character. If he didn't rat Shaq out for cheating on his wife they probably would've had 3 more championships in LA if you don't recall. He learned something from being that way though I guess.

Another example of why the GE helipad was such a terrible idea. Imagine flying around skyscrapers in fog. It’s one percenters risking the lives of others.

can be a great part of a city, but One Financial always looks so trashy. It is hard to light that kind of building and instead of being thoughtful they just blast the whole thing with color. Could be so much better.

Right up there with the Boston City Hall blotches of light. Plus. Imagine working afterhours in that tower or city hall. AHH!

In the 70s and 80s before One Financial went up, one of the buildings that the tower replaced was the South Station Cinema, a gay porn theater. It was seedy, but it was a happening place in it's day.
