More gunfire in Cambridge's Port neighborhood; suspect vehicle found crashed near Faneuil Hall

Cambridge Police report officers found more than a dozen spent shells in the area of Harvard, Cherry and Boardman streets in the Port after gunfire around 1:45 a.m.

Two buildings and one car were hit; no human victims found, police say, adding:

While responding to the gunshots, Officers witnessed a vehicle leaving the area at a high rate of speed and driving through a red light at the corner of Columbia Street and Cambridge Street. Despite multiple attempts by Officers to stop the vehicle, the operator fled into Somerville. The State Police and surrounding agencies were notified and the suspect vehicle crashed after it was located by the State Police. The operator/suspect(s) ran away from the scene and were not located after a search was conducted.

The car was found off I-93 near Faneuil Hall in Boston.

On July 15 and 16, two people were shot in the Port.
