We might get flash flooding after all

Map showing estimated rain totals across southern New England - 4-6 inches in Boston

Estimated rain totals today and tomorrow, from NWS.

The entire state is under a flash-flood watch that runs from 2 p.m. until tomorrow afternoon, although the greatest risk is from the turnpike south, as the remains of Ida pass through:

Widespread 2.50 to 5 inches of rain expected with isolated amounts up to 6 or 7 inches not out of the question. This will bring the potential for rare high impact type of flooding to southern New England.

When Connie and Diane really soaked the area.

"You want a drizzle, downpour or a deluge?"

"Flood the place!"
