This will be one of the "rock bottoms" they talk about in 12 step programs. But these days it's so hard to stay drug and alcohol free. Jail, he'll see a lot of his drug buddies, see more is his drug friends at court ordered treatment program, his mother will be hopeful, then an old drug dealer acquaintance will call him again and he'll be sucked in again to repeat the hellish life and 24 hour a day job of addiction and chasing the high.

End the use of dogs in police action. As for the perp, why demand that he exit the water? Wait him out - he's in there voluntarily, and you have nothing else to do, because you're the Arlington Police.* See if the hypothermia gets him first.

*I know one of their guys. Used to DJ at my bar.

Arlington PD said not in this house! Bravo! I see this a lot with folks committing crimes with multiple active warrants. I’m just curious, when warrants are issued is there any effort to find the accused. It just seems like this guy may have been found with a little effort from Boston, Weymouth or Quincy PD.
