You can always tell a Harvard man, but soon you'll be able to call him a turkey

Fretful that Harvardians are not fighting fiercely enough because they have no mascot, only a color, the school's undergraduate government is looking at creating an official mascot for the school in the form of a turkey - and it's allocated $1,000 to buy a large turkey outfit to test out the idea at The Game this weekend, where Yale fans will no doubt give the idea the respect it deserves.

A turkey you say...? At The Game, you say?
(MIT hackers laughing maniacally)
Today The Place Would Have Been Evacuated and The FBI Swarm In
I was on the T that Saturday with my dad and at South Station all the Yalies got on hammered after taking Amtrak. The conductor starting saying how Harvard was going to win over the speakers and there were boos all over the place. It was great.
The Engineers won the day though.
What happened to the angry
What happened to the angry pilgrim mascot? Or technically a puritan I think. That didn't catch on?
I'd better get a mention
Hey, I was the one who knew the wild turkey, native of this land, was a bird of distinction and should be honored as such. Not sure an affiliation with Harvard College achieves that.
Harvard alumnae do indeed
Harvard alumnae do indeed flock together like birds of a feather, and protect each other and find the best resources to plunder. Except at breeding time, when they become excessively aggressive and competitive and see their own reflections and think(?) it is a challenge to their aspiration and deserved station.
The austentatious displays of plumage figure in as well.
Not sure how their snoods are Harvard-like, but they sure creep me out.
Maybe it's the equivalent of the floppy doctorate tam?
The snood is just as crimson
The snood is just as crimson as the wattle of course.
They're not choosing
a Monty Python-esque twit?
I mean
Perhaps having no mascot isn't the worst choice.
Conversely, perhaps having someone dress up like John Harvard is a choice.
Are mascots required?
The Philly Flyers held out on mascots for a very long time. But mascots mean merch, so ...
That's how Gritty happened.
Indeed
For if there is one cash strapped college in the area, it would be Harvard.
MIT doesn't seem to have had
MIT doesn't seem to have had any flashy pranks the last couple of years. You would think a giant mask somewhere on or around something would have been appropriate.
