Beth Israel reports Covid-19 outbreak

Covid-19 isn't dead yet: WFXT reports Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center yesterday reported a "recent outbreak of Covid-19 among staff and patients." The patients were put into isolation and, at least around them, the hospital brought back the universal masking requirements it gave up, along with other hospitals, last month.

And I just had a long ("annual") medical exam there! With a doctor who's been calling in sick himself a lot! I was N95-masked (he just wore a wimpy "surgical mask") but still… am I about to catch the Covid demon a third time? Just my luck, typical lately… arrgh!

Why should doctors wear masks? They are not at risk of dying from a common virus.

What was your methodology for assessing the individual risk of every physician that works at BIDMC?

Why should cops wear seatbelts? They are not at risk of dying from a common car crash.

Same reason commercial kitchens should prep allergens in a separate area from the rest of their food even if nobody working in the kitchen has allergies.

But of course, you knew that.

Dear Ignorant Moron,

1. Of course they're at risk. Lots of medical professionals (doctors, nurses, aides, and others) have died of Covid during the epidemic.

2. They also wear masks to help protect their patients.

3. Are you actually this dumb, or are you just trolling?

Why should I secure the load of trash I'm carrying in my truck? Stuff falling off the back of my truck isn't going to hurt me.
