Chance for a Boston resident to tell the T where to go

Mayor Wu's office is looking for applicants for the new Boston-specific seat on the MBTA board of directors recently approved by the state legislature and Gov. Healey.

Applicants have to be T-riding Boston residents who can show a specific connection to "communities of transit riders, including employees, customers, and students" and who are committed to "high quality, reliable, and affordable public transportation as a core strategy of economic growth, cultural vibrancy, and quality of life."

Bostonians with something to say about the T but who don't want to commit to monthly board and subcommittee meetings can also help "inform" the new Boston board member's goals on how to contributed to "the urgent endeavor of building the quality transit that our entire region deserves."

The city has a form for both potential candidates for the seat and for residents with something to say.

Does being an "MBTA commuter" satisfy the "public transit rider" requirement?
