And it’s way overdue. This is an infrastructure project (along with removing dams) that is worth the cost.

The most ridiculous part of the story is the guy who had to post signs along the Alewife Brook path warning people not to walk through the puddle of sewage.

Removing the combined sewers is a hugely expensive project, but better notification systems would be comparatively easy. An activist group is asking the state to install electronic signs that warn of sewage conditions. This already exists in the DC area.
