Where the mattresses are

Complaints to 311 about mattresses on Boston Move-In Day. Allston/Brighton and Mission Hill, of course, but a fair number of complaints from South Boston, too. Also see: Allston Christmas Bingo - North End edition.

Just took a trip to the Polish Triangle (loading up on pierogi and kielbasa) area and can confirm that Allston Christmas is in full swing there also.

Also, couldn't get a picture, but there was a semi that ignored the "no trucks" sign for the Mass Pike turnaround at the Allston Brighton interchange.

Early August I called 311 to help a neighbor get his mattresses picked up. He was given a pick up date of September 7th.

If things remain on that track, with all the folks who don't know that general trash collection pick up no longer collect mattresses -or can't be bothered- we may be facing mattressmageddon in the coming weeks.

...just leave 'em there, they'll make handy space savers in a few months.

Leave off the last S for squalid

I give the Boston DPW, ISD and others credit for staying on top of the problem with the annual trashing of our neighborhood. There were numerous mattresses and assorted household items out on sidewalks around here. Even garbage just tossed out in open bags.
I guess when one departs, it's OK to just do what's convenient for you.
Again, thanks to the men and women out there that kept this situation from getting out of hand.

Have a great Labor Day weekend!

No storrowing, no fun.

Easy. But who's in charge of the city at the moment?
