AC problems shut Copley Square library again

Brian reports the doors to the main library in Copley Square were shut again. The signs on the doors said just the new wing was closed, but he says there was no staff in the old wing to help puzzled patrons.

A week ago, the signs said the entire library was shut.

I don’t know where Brian was in McKim, but there was definitely staff there. Also, the frontline staff has no control over what’s going on there so getting pissed at them does nothing. They’re just as uncomfortable as everyone else in there, only they can’t just leave.

What's going on at Copley Square BPL? Is the New Wing staff not trained to work in the Old Wing? I thought they were librarians...

The BPL was using fans as a half-assed fix just like the MBTA does in its stations on Monday. Makes me wonder if the exact same contractor is in charge of the AC in the Johnson Building? I bet if there were escalators there (there aren't, thank goodness), they'd be out of order, too.

Definitely interested to hear your theory about how the level of staff cross training affects the air conditioning.
