Lumbering bull on the loose in Roslindale

Boston Police and Animal Control responded to American Legion Highway near the Walgreens and Flaming Grill buffet around 7:20 this morning on reports of a bull that had been wandering around there until some people in a UHaul chased it up into the woods of Crane Ledge next door.

Police left around 7:50 a.m. after confirming there was, indeed, a bull loose in the woods up there, but that Animal Control would continue the pursuit.

In the Keep Roslindale Quirky Facebook group, somebody reported spotting it last night on Hyde Park Avenue near Pagel Playground on the line between Roslindale and Jamaica Plain - which is normally home to Boston's only free-range bulls, but up at Allandale Farm, on the other side of the neighborhood - not to mention the Amtrak/commuter-rail train tracks and the Centre Street parkway..

I'm questioning whether this is actually a bull (male, intact). I think it's more likely to be a steer (male, fixed), or cow (female). Bulls are much more likely to be dangerous and difficult to rustle than steers or cows. Note that Curtis and Willard at Allandale are steers, not bulls.

So it can meet up with the pig that lives near the quarry and they can become best friends and go on adventures and fight crime.

That we've all forgotten as adults.

If someone doesn't seek confrontation, leave them the (expletive) alone. It's not hard.
