Man sexually attacks five children at an MIT pool, police say
By adamg on Thu, 08/22/2024 - 1:26pm
The Tech reports on an incident at MIT's Zesiger Sports and Fitness Center in which five children swimming in a pool were "inappropriately touched" by a strange man between 7:30 and 8:50 a.m. on July 24. The guy, about 30 with a mustache, was last seen wearing a lime-green shirt. In response to the incident, MIT now requires an empty lane between child and adult swimmers, the Tech reports.

How do they not know who the guy is?
Do they not have to check an ID, or take payment, or have him sign a waiver, or have any video surveillance of the entrance, or anything? Seems a bit absurd if they just let any random people go into the pool off the street without getting any information about them at all. Also I think they might need to tell us something like height or rough skin color if they actually want an ID. The description provided is a bit of a joke. Sounds like a huge fail of supervision at basically all levels?
Description
This isn't a BOLO from the cops. It's just an article in the MIT student newspaper.
Sure but
They told us he has a mustache and basically nothing else. It's a confusing detail, when surely more would be known, and if this person is actually on the run now, he could always do something like I didn't know shave? It's like the most red herring description to provide. Could almost have just said nothing.
Hmmm...
This is exactly what a criminal with a mustache would say.
