Third man nabbed, arraigned for St. Patrick's beatdown in South Boston

Joseph Dunkle, 36, was arraigned yesterday for his alleged role in a Tudor Street stomping after this year's St. Patrick's Day parade that sent three men to the hospital.

Dunkle's brother, John, and Matthew Sullivan had previously been arrested and charged. Police arrested Joseph Dunkle in Quincy on Thursday.

Joseph Dunkle was arraigned in South Boston Municipal Court on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery causing serious bodily injury and disorderly conduct, court records show. Judge Robert Ronquillo set bail at $2,000.

According to a police report, officers responded to 186 Tudor St. around 4:40 p.m. on March 17 to find three bruised and bloodied men at the curb - one, in fact, was spitting out "large clumps of blood" when officers pulled up.

According to police, the three men said they were walking down Tudor Street when they were jumped for no reason that they could tell by a group of five people.

One victim told police he was "pushed to the ground and continuously stomped on."

In 2012, both Dunkle brothers pleaded guilty to assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and disorderly conduct for activities on St. Patrick's Day in 2011, court records show. They were ordered to perform 12 hours of community service and to pay $600 to their victim.
