The Boston Licensing Board yesterday approved a new liquor store on State Street downtown and gave a convenience store on Tremont Street in Chinatown permission to start stocking beer and wine.
Liquor Story will open at 103 State St., between Kilby and Broad streets, vowing to serve the thirst needs of both residents and tourists.
Tremont Variety, 283 Tremont St., next to the Courtyard by Marriott, says it set aside 10% to 15% of its shelving for beer and wine, so it will continue to over other convenience-store items.
