Globe buys Boston Magazine; they could call it BoGloBoMag

The Boston Globe reports it's bought Boston Magazine from its longtime Philadelphia owners.

The Globe said all BoMag employees were offered their jobs under the new ownership. Also: "Existing Boston Magazine subscriptions and advertisements will transfer seamlessly."

In a statement, Boston Globe Media CEO Linda Henry said:

Like many who grew up here, The Boston Globe was always on my breakfast table and Boston Magazine was on the coffee table. As so many other iconic publications that once shaped our city have faded away, we feel an immense responsibility to honor and preserve Boston Magazine’s legacy. This is not just about sustaining a magazine - it’s about strengthening a cornerstone of Boston’s identity and ensuring its stories continue to inspire, connect, and resonate with our community for generations to come.

Boston Globe Media President Dhiraj Nayar said that in the short term, Boston Magazine will stay the same, but:

In the months ahead, we will work towards enhancing the print and digital experience, ensuring it remains a trusted voice for the city. Our approach at the Globe has been grounded in a deep connection to the community and a commitment to invest and innovate to better serve our readers each year. We will take the same approach with Boston Magazine.
