Sorry, Doug Bennett, I couldn't answer your 'confidential' voter survey

Because I didn't feel like traipsing upstairs to answer the phone, I picked up the receiver on our old wall-mounted rotary phone in the kitchen, so when your robo-lady told me to press 1 or 2 depending on whether I planned to vote for at-large City Council Candidate Doug Bennett, I couldn't, ha ha.

Not sure why that makes me feel so good, but there you are. Sometimes there's value in being a Luddite.

By the way, the Boston Herald endorsed Carlos Henriquez for 7th District City Councilor over (indicted) incumbent Chuck Turner.

Although because we have two landlines, I was able to answer both ways (are you voting for Doug Bennett or are you undecided) and discover that you get the same response either way.

I'll put you guys down for "plan to vote." Hey, it looks like Doug will win in a landslide.

The worst thing is, he is the hardest working candidate, but every step he takes makes me hate him more.

Speaking of calls, I got a postcard yesterday saying that Sam Yoon is going to call me Saturday morning for a "Tele-Town Hall" meeting. Sounds like even a rotary phone will work, they'll just call & connect you to the meeting.

Suppose he's going to call everyone in the city or was I specially selected? There doesn't seem to be a way to opt-out, so I guess you just hang up if you don't want to be part of the call.
