There were people waiting outside the Community Center in chairs when I arrived before 8:00 a.m. this morning. Only about the first 50 people in line got tickets. Not sure it made complete sense to allocate only about 200 tickets for the one community center in Dorchester since that is the largest populated neighborhood in the city...

What a joke. Same thing in CTOWN. 600 people in line, 200 tickets. Number system, first 50 in lline got 4 tickets. Disappointing..........Cant afford a red sox game, a hockey game or even a free skate......

They only delivered half the number of expected tickets to Eastie and the ones who did not get an actual ticket were given a raffle ticket to "win" tickets.

Apparently, a lot of people from other neighborhoods came across the harbor and camped out starting around 7 AM according to my boyfriend who was in line.

I arrived at the Eastie site around 8:30 and had no problem getting tickets. They made everbody show a MA ID with an Eastie address so I don't see how anybody camping out from another neighborhood would have had any luck getting tickets. The crowd was pretty well behaved and respectful of who got there first.

Had to show Mass ID with BOSTON address, it was neighborhood specific, unless Eastie staff changed the rules.

Mission Hill wasn't as brutal, I got in line at 8:55 and got tickets, although there weren't many left, it seemed like if you got there by or before 9 you were ok.

The line at 9 am stretched along that whole block of Exeter Street and then around the corner to the back of the library. I figured they'd run out of tickets with the hundred people at best, and didn't join all those hardy souls — it was freezing out there. But most of the people in line looked like they owned hockey skates and didn't seem to notice how cold it was.
