Things I will miss about Brighton

Well the countdown begins. Hopefully I will be moving to Roslindale from Brighton on April 28th. I'm gonna miss a lot in Brighton though:

Imperial Pizza
Athan's Bakery
Being close to the River
Easy drive to work on the Pike
The BPL Oak Square
Taking the little guy down to Starbucks in the morning for coffee and scone where he flirts with all the customers
Cafenation
The Greenbriar
Running around the Reservoir
Kiki's
The Guiness at Irish Village
Being close to Ana's Tacqueria in Coolidge Corner
Being able to walk to St. E's where my son, me and my father were all born
Being so close to our day care in Allston

Not quite the same, I know (for a year or so, I still drove up to Allston for my barber), but, some good things about the new neighborhood:

Pleasant Cafe for pizza and general Rozzieness.
DeNo's Pizza (West Roxbury) for good pizza.

Being close to Stony Brook Reservation, an actual forest in the middle of the city (and yet with paved trails, just great for pushing a stroller along - or for jogging).

Having the Arboretum right here. Being close to Millennium Park and the river.

The BPL in Rozzie Square (although our kiddie was partial to the story hours at the West Roxbury BPL). Also, some good toddler/young kid programs at the Roche Community Center (but beware: You have to get into line like 7 a.m. the two times a year they have signup).

Taking the kidlet down to Emack and Bolio's for coffee in the morning and ice cream on Sundays, where he can flirt with all the customers (well, OK, the ones not engrossed in their laptops). Not all that far a drive to JP Licks, the real one in Jamaica Plain in the old firehouse with the giant cow's head and the kids' chalk area.

Yucatan Tacos.

Easy drive to, um, er, the Dedham Mall (OK, you got me there; Roslindale is the part of Boston where you can't get theah from heah).

Centre Street in West Roxbury. And then for the ultimate in Westieness, you go shopping at the Roche Bros. right behind it.
