Meteorologist's bag of shame

It was in the bag for Cindy Fitzgibbon at Channel 25 this morning.

Todd Gutner on Channel 4 apologizes, says he lost money, too (had to hire a babysitter so he could stay at work), David Robichaud praises him as brave.

at one point last night, the weather folks on Fox were running a segment about how their WIND forecasts were on the money – avoiding any conversation of how badly off their SNOW predictions were. It's too bad WIND isn't a good enough reason to shut down the city and surrounding schools, or no one would care.

Actually, wind is good enough reason to shut things down, because when it starts blowing heavy snow around, you get blizzard-like white-out conditions. It DID snow heavily, it just didn't accumulate because of surface temps. Would you want your child on a school bus at the hands of a driver trying to navigate a white-out? No? Thought so.

I don't know what part of the city you were in on Wednesday, but there was no snow blowing around on the BU campus during the day. There was rain, rain, rain.... until 7 or 8 PM...

on WBZ radio this morning. Talk about an absolutely useless and self-serving tirade.

Now Menino's comment that "space saving is a part of urban life - get used to it" had me laughing so hard I nearly fell over.
