The Massachusetts Broadcasters Hall of Fame
Yes, of course there is one, at least there is one now. And the initial inductees are Jess Cain, Bob and Ray (who started at WHDH radio) and Rex Trailer, who will be honored May 4, and Frank Avruch (known both as Bozo the Clown and as the movie guy), Paul Benzaquin, Tom Bergeron (now known as the "Dancing with the Stars" and the "America's Unfunniest Videos of Guys Getting Whacked in the Groin" guy, but he got his start here), Fred B. Cole, Don Kent, Joyce Kulhawik, Harold Segal, Liz Walker and Bob Wilson, who get the induction on May 16.
The hall will be located at Massasoit Community College in Brockton, where the induction ceremonies will take place. More info. Via BostonRadio.org.

About Time
This is a marvelous idea, long overdue.
Just for clarity's sake, a couple of spelling corrections. That's Rex Trailer, with an "r" following the "T", and I believe it's Joyce Kulhawik, no "s".
If I had a chance, I'd nominate a few others - Dana Hersey, Arnie "Woo-Woo" Ginsberg, Larry Glick and Norm Nathan. I suppose they'll have their day later.

Good choices
Typos fixed.
What about Julia Child?
nomination
how about Charles Laquidara?
Definitely Norm!
Norm Nathan should definitely been on the first round of inductees! But I'm sure he will be recognized sooner or later.
Yes!
Child and Laquidara are great choices. Another one I forgot about was Jerry Williams - he was on-air here forever.

are only living people eligible?
that's the only reason I didn't mention Williams.
Not All Living
Well, only one of Bob And Ray is alive.
Maybe they were looking for living recipients, though - those they could actually have come up on-stage to get the award.

If dead people are eligible
Then they gotta include ol' Guglielmo Marconi - the original Massachusetts broadcaster.
more nominations
David Brudnoy (dead, sadly)
Chris Lydon (still quite lively)
I nominate David Brudnoy
I heartily nominate David Brudnoy. He was a beacon of intelligence every night, espousing wisdom and great insight to 38 states and four provinces of Canada on WBZ. He's also the only person I can think of that could host a nightly 5 hour! show, and do it without guests or callers, if need be.
nominees
Where's David Brudnoy on this list?? He's my nomination x 10!
Mass Broadcasters Hall of Fame
I nominate Loren and Wally (105.7FM). They've been entertaining with quality and class for more than 25 years.
