Save Lansdowne Street? Is it worth saving?

Someone named Keaton, or The Wallet Girl, is organizing a "save Avalon and Axis" protest at City Hall Plaza, Friday, June 22 at noon. Some more commentary is here.

Didn't know it was at risk
It's a pity. I haven't been down there in a long time, but I always enjoyed the vibe. It's especially fun when baseball fans are heading one way and club kids heading the other. Definitely a unique Boston experience that should be preserved.
Tough call
A big part of me laments the potential (?) loss of Avalon and Axis, and I'm equally skeptical of the expansion of Fenway Park's footprint in it's effect on surrounding business. However, there have been many nights when I'm either going to a game or, more often, leaving a game at Fenway and things are just a total cluster-f*ck on Lansdowne Street because there's a gigantic tour bus there, and a crowd of substantial size is added to the already sizable crowd departing Fenway. Those situations just make a disaster of an already difficult situation.
I'm torn on this one. Ultimately I guess I really don't care what the outcome is.

from what I understand the redevelopment would be putting a larger venue in the place of the clubs. That by far isn't going to be helping the traffic congestion in the area. Bigger bands (though tbh, Avalon pulls a lot of big bands, tis why I love the place. It's small enough you can get right up to the bands, but can still pull name bands) are more equipment, are more congestion.
I, for one, will be sad to see the club go.
