where there's smoke ...
Sounds like the entire organization is having problems following some pretty simple and basic safety rules - be they fire safety rules or food safety rules.
One word
Ew.
with the goal of repeating myself...
Allow me to reprise, verbatim, my comment on the last Deluca's thread:
That place is vile. I sometimes buy a bottle or two of wine there on the way home, but I wouldn't buy food there. It appears dirty, it smells, and the prices are ridiculous. Even the wine is overpriced. But what a great location!
Some people refer to it as
Some people refer to it as Depuka's because of the mold on fruit.
The Beacon Hill location
The Beacon Hill location always smelled like a litter box. My husband and I were always trying to figure out where the smell was coming from.
wow. what a surprise. bwaahaahaahaah!
I was just waiting for this one. This is classic Deluca's.

Finally time this disgusting place got shut down
Newbury DeLucas was disgusting back in the day too.
I lived a block from the Newbury Delucas for most of the 80s, and although it supposedly had a decent wine selection, it was the *last* place you wanted to buy any food, especially fresh (sic) produce. We used to joke that the only people who bought food there were yuppies who wanted an excuse to eat out.
