Jacqui M of Somerville e-mails to say she doesn't think much of the message she spotted on the WGBH megatron by the turnpike this morning:
IT'S OK TO DRIVE AND THINK
"It just doesn't seem right to me," she writes. "I mean, what would you say if a French pastry shop had a sign that said* 'DATE CREPE IS GREAT!' ?"

Jacqui wins the first round in our "jumping to Conclusions" game. Deep breaths Jacqui, while "think" certainly rythmes with "drink" they are most likely referring to recent things banned while behind the wheel like texting. To assume anything more sinister or callous, especially from WGBH, is a far mightier stretch than your ridiculous "Date Crepe" suggestion.
Lighten up, Jacqui

I saw that for the first time the other day and thought it was pretty clever. Please find a sense of humor, Jacqui, and you can leave me off the invitation list for your next dinner party.
That's ridiculous

Jf I saw that while driving the Pike it would make me smile, and perhaps even retune my radio to WGBH.

I think both are hilarious! Date Crepe, that is classic!!!
Maybe Jacqui is just too uptight and needs to get a real job. ;)
How about this slogan: "Can I get MTV from kissing?" Oh wait, the T took down those signs. Hrm....maybe someone needs a hand up their ascot.
I am suddenly in the mood for a crepe from Z squared.
I've had a date crepe before

I made a crepe and filled it with dates. Strangely enough, I didn't think of it as a date crepe.

As Jaqui's probably learned by now - what she witnessed is only bad if it's not for a Sanctioned Cause.

Get a sense of humor and stop being so damn sensitive.

It says "it's ok to think and drive."
I think it's in pretty poor taste. But not high up there on the list of stuff I'd write a letter about or anything.
You know what's in really really bad taste? The people in this thread, presumably adults, or at least people old enough to create internet accounts, who are calling each other oversensitive and fat and babies and breeders.

What's wrong with that? I've been drinking and thriving for decades.
