A roving UHub photographer spotted this surfer dude on Morton Street by Blue Hill Avenue this morning - heading toward the ocean.

Was that INTENDED to scoop a bicyclist out of the bike lane from behind, and throw them under the cars?
Gosh, those free-spirited surfer dudes! Gotta love 'em as much as they love themselves!
Might as well put a "FOR SALE" sign on the car now
Given the riptide situation.
Local knowledge
Riptides are to be dealt with, and are not a feature at all breaks. I'm not going to take my body board out to Gloucester this weekend for that reason, but the Wall and Jenness in NH have yet to be problematic even in 8-10' overhead (but oh yes they can grow new ones ...). Many surfers and most lifeguards can pick them out from the shore, or at least see from the dynamics of the water movement where they might form. It is part of reading the water before you get in, and being willing to move on if it looks or gets too hairy.
If you can paddle out in heavy surf, you can generally ride out a rip and exit or cut out the side. Most surfers know this, and many a hapless swimmer has been rescued by a surfer.

Mr. Longboarder probably isn't going much further than Nantasket.
Da Oceans datta Way
He's heading west on 203(morton st)towards Blue Hill Ave which is away from the coast
Maybe he's going to Hull
In a Nantasket.
203 is one of the faster ways down to the South Shore, actually.
Blue Hill Ave is also a quick cut down to I-95, which leads down to Rhode Island.
It's going to take a while
It's not like there's a Highway to Hull.
Also, I don't see the appeal in going inland - on a day like today, anywhere away from the shore's gonna be hotter than Hull.
OK, I'll stop now.
Waste yer brain
Wax yer board, pray for waves.
thanks a lot
Hey, nice way to out Jenness, the Wall, and Rt. 203, guys.
