Ladies, how much would you pay to date a Harvard man?

DateHarvardSq is a new site that will let women pay for the opportunity to hook up with 100% guaranteed Harvard dbags, um, grads, who won't have to pay anything because they're in such demand.

In my day, we didn't need fancy websites to help Harvard men hook up with desperate women. We just went to BU parties and chewed with our mouths closed, exclusively. That usually did the trick.

UH serves an important role in reminding people that, say, the Globe still exists.

I'd bet that the Globe makes more off UH than UH does off the Globe.

And, by way of public service, UH raises the quality of discussion around stories, by having only 13% idiot readers, compared to the Globe's combination of 61% feeble-minded and 18% imbeciles.

who is the reason you can comment here, you should probably know he went to Brandeis, has been in journalism for many years, and is taken seriously by his professional peers and well as many of us who frequent UHub. As an aggregator Adam does generate quite a bit of traffic for Boston.com as well as the many other websites, for fun and profit. I think that's part of the disgust from various commentaries. Not only doe the orientation of this towards non-Harvardites looking to date people from Harvard seem like crass gold digging (People from Harvard don't want to hook up with each other?) but the orientation of men as the prizes to be dated and women as the desperate gold diggers seems sexist.

The Terms of Service mention "DateHarvardSquare, Inc.", not some LLC. It's unlikely that they'd go form a true corporation for such a new venture. The address given is Harvard student housing. There's no pricing info anywhere on the site, and in fact there's no way for anyone to sign up with payment info - women who register are told they'll be in touch when they're ready to accept subscribers.

This is going to be somebody's sociology project or "artistic statement".

If you manage to get disgusted about this, you have a pretty low threshold for disgust, and you probably have too much free time on your hand as well. I think people who buy organic dogfood are morons, but they don't disgust me - I don't care enough.

If a non-Harvard man wants to meet a Harvard woman, the only way is to go to a Harvard bar and verbally smack down a pretentious Crimson douchebag who thinks he knows more about history than some random townie. He has to be good, too - no regurgitating Gordon Wood about the Pre-revolutionary utopia and the capital-forming effects of military mobilization - and then sit in the corner and wait for her to approach him with her number. I think that's how it works, anyway.
