Even if this incident occurred before the latest episode of South Park, let's blame Trey Parker for such anti-Jersey violence.

This is just townies being townies. If it weren't NJ it would be because the other people were from some other town off the edge of the map. South Park likely had little to do with it - these people find a reason to act like townie idiots, regardless.

Drop them in a rough area of Mexico City and see how far this shit gets them.

Believe me, there may be (certainly are) thugs on Pratt Street, but none of them are townies and haven't been for quite a few years. I know of only two residents on that street that would qualify as townies - one of them is a woman in her 70s, and the other one is a father of 3.

The kind of locals that aren't actually local - like most of the residents of Pratt Street. With the exception of the two households I referred to above and two or three houses of Chinese families, all of Pratt Street is rental properties, generally occupied by BU and other college students.

You think there's "townies" on Pratt Street? The people who live on Pratt don't even know what that word means!

That is a completely absurd thing to say, I really hope that was a joke... right?

The entire idea for the Jersey episode of South Park derived from making fun of the stereotypical Jersey dwellers as depicted on JERSEY SHORE and the public's reaction to that show. How some turned it in to a trend while others see it's kinda stupid.

there is absolutely not chance whatsoever that attack had anything to do with South Park. At all. Period.

I honestly do hope that was a joke.

NJ is the Rodney Dangerfield of states. Most of the time, what it's stereotyped for is only a small percentage of what's there, culturally or development-wise.

MTV isn't helping. And the Shore is not the NJ I grew up with, anyway. North Jersey and South Jersey are like two different places, barely held together by Trenton.

I want to see that South Park episode, though.

And with all seriousness. It's so bad here, that I only mention my NYC and NJ roots in educated company. I've even been yelled at about sports, and I don't even follow sports. Don't blame me because of the Yankees. Egads. I couldn't even tell you when games are unless I get stuck in the traffic.

The episode only really mocks the people from the "reality" shows. The majority of the Jersey Shore cast isn't even from NJ; we know them as "bennies". There are a handful of shows now that are based on NJ stereotypes right now. Boston has the same problem with reality shows. I'm sure everyone has noticed, including UH, that every one of those shows has a token Boston cast member.

Conversely, I'm a huge NYC sports fan, but I've never gotten into anything because of that. Even wearing my Yankees gear at Fenway was never really a problem. A few jeers here and there, but nothing that would stop me from going to a game.

South Park is one of the only shows that puts their full episodes online...all of them.

Here's "It's a Jersey thing" for you...ovah heah.

This is a town of jerks. And the people who aren't jerks are pissy because of the various impositions of the people who are.

I'm gonna call myself one of the pissy ones.

Seems to be a very crime-ridden neighborhood. Is that area what's known as Allston Village?

Allston Village, such as it is, is the business district on Harvard Ave between Comm Ave and Cambridge Street.

I refer to the area bounded by Comm, Harvard and the train yard as the "Allston Ghetto".
