Tedy Bruschi is not dead

So just cut that out. No, seriously.
Blame somebody at Fox 25 for calling up other reporters when he or she got an anonymous "tip" about Bruschi's alleged demise - those reporters started calling sources and friends and before you knew it grown men were on the verge of tears about something that didn't happen.
Bruce Allen has some background on how "just another idiot on the Internet" managed to start all the trouble.

One Moron
Well, here is one moron who started the rumors:

Look at the first entry.
Two Moron
The "journalist" who propigated the rumor did so because he/she didn't know what they were doing. I know some journalists and they wouldn't call around on something like this - they would use their contacts to dig. Imagine the kinds of calls I got when I worked for Harvard and had access to internal phone books - it gives me some insight into why this person screwed up with a classic internet "lookitme!".

I did hear/read about Tedi Bruschi's stroke back when it first happened, but I also heard/read that he survived.
The Cause of the Stroke was Found
Tedy had a congenetal heart defect of a certain type. The normal heart motion would result in generation of small clots from time to time, one of which lodged in his brain.
That heart defect was patched up and he is good to go. Sound of heart and mind!
