Boston TV News reports that Randi Goldklank, who left her job at Channel 7 and Boston after a drunken rampage at Logan Airport, has lost her job as sales manager at a Florida TV station after another allegedly interesting public outburst.
Or as Broadcasting and Cable puts it:
The Delray Beach police report said Goldklank "was touching herself, removing her top, and dancing on a pole like a stripper. The restaurant staff asked her to leave the establishment several times, but she ignored them and refused to leave."
Goldklank also resisted arrest, and threatened the arresting officer with negative coverage on WPEC.
You may recall that during the Logan incident, she threatened a state trooper's job.

One full name that will be easy to remember.
Sounds like the person should see a doctor about alcohol abuse and any medical problem that might be going on.
Of course, any night in Boston will have locals getting drunk and fighting and such, which is just as bad, but they're not as entertaining about it.

She sounds like a character from James Bond movie. One of the women who sleeps with Bond early on in the film, and is eventually killed off.

I would posit that people who get drunk and do "weird shit" like this have some serious underlying problems. The alcohol just removes the inhibition, allowing the mental disease to spring forth in the social situation.

Obviously she is dealing with some demons...and lucky her! She gets to fight them with everyone watching.

When a man acts up like this, he's a scumbag and deserves to rot. When a woman does, she's 'bi-polar.' Poor dear!

The general received wisdom appears to be that there's obnoxious behavior, and then there's obnoxious behavior that happens to have a DSM-IV code attached to it.
In the former case, the person is a jerk to be shunned. In the latter case, a suffering individual for whom compassion is appropriate.
In a perfect world, we'd have compassion for everyone. And yet, I can't resist a certain schadenfreude at seeing the downfall of someone who plays the "don't you know who I am? I'll have your job" card when dealing with the cops.
Awww, heck. What am I saying? She's my kind of party gal.

I'll have to confess, part of my reaction is "poor suffering tormented soul..." and part of it is, to put a different take on Will LaTulippe's words, "Man, I'd love to have crazed monkey sex with that woman."
So, assuming that evolution actually works the way it's supposed to, most of the time, and that it selects for traits that, on the whole, tend to favor survival and reproductive success....
...what is it about our history as a species that causes our limbic systems to whisper, seductively in our inner ear, "Yah, sure, she's bat-shit crazy, but bat-shit crazy is kinda sexy, don't ya think, huh? ... that there is a good time waiting to be had, sonny!"

Questionable newsworthiness and unquestionable voyeuristic reporting. This is an advertising executive--hardly a public figure any longer--who lives thousands of miles from here. If she indeed mentioned her TV station, she brought some attention on herself. But there's still more sleaze than edification here.
