Three shot in Roxbury; rowdy partiers arrested in Brighton
Boston Police report finding three people shot at 39 Dubois St. in Roxbury around 11:20 p.m. yesterday. All taken to Boston Medical Center; expected to survive.
Meanwhile, over in Brighton, a party at 110 Strathmore Rd. in Brighton allegedly got out of hand way early: Police made their second visit to the place around 11:07 p.m.
Officers knocked on the door for several minutes and received no response. After several minutes and unknown female was heard yelling to guest to keep quiet and turn the music off. The unknown female began to unlock the door, however several male voices were heard yelling at her not to open the door.
One dude, whose age would indicate he's getting too old for such alleged behavior, tried to push the police out into the hallway. Cuffed. Another similarly getting-a-bit-old dude was arrested when, allegedly, he began yelling at police to let his friend go.

The cops should be less
The cops should be less forgiving next time. They're supposed to be taking a hard-line against this sort of thing so potential noise-makers will be too scared to even start disturbing their neighbors.
It's nice to be out in JP where I don't have to deal with this sort of thing anymore.
A party police didn't break up
Miss von Schtoop describes a bacchanalia over by Northeastern:
Ugh. I'm just guessing, but
Ugh.
I'm just guessing, but I can only imagine that the police are too afraid of the backlash from the college if they bust too many students. Lots of mommys and daddys with money calling up to complain that their precious little angels have been wrongfully punished for "just being kids" and that something needs to be done.
Stretched resources
I'm thinking the BPD is not going to much care if a bunch of whiny parents from Great Neck start calling, so maybe the issue is a department just stretched too thin. When you've got three people with bullet holes in them in the same police district at the same time as a college party, which one do you think will/should get precedence?
Interesting
Every indication from this story is that was not a college party. Go figure, there are a few BC students that live on that section Strathmore (at least there were when I was in college) but the it looks like the college students weren't the ones causing trouble in Brighton (or at least that part of Brighton) that night.
