The Jamaica Plain Gazette reports one was sent to the hospital with "life threatening" injuries after the shooting on the 2900 block of Washington Street - which also put a bullet hole in the rear window of an SUV parked nearby. The shootings were not reported on BPDNews.
Over the past year, the area around Egleston Square has become a battleground between the feuding Mozart Street and Boylston Street gangs. Three alleged Mozart associates with lengthy records were indicted this week on federal gun charges. However, police did not release a possible motive for the March 7 shooting.

At least it's free admission (if you don't consider the risk) - and it's a cop-free zone. One must take the good with the bad in Boston.

Someone is going to call you racist for the use of the word, but you are right about the mentality of the bangers there. They could care less about the neighborhood. It's their playground to do business and kill each other. The residents are too scared to work with the police and the cops aren't willing or able to deploy significant manpower to be effective.
If by a zoo you mean people

If by a zoo you mean people going about their daily business, then yeah.

I had something more like 'animals' in mind. A friend once related that he'd gone to the mickey d's in that garden spot and said 'thank you' to the server when she handed him his coffee. She said that was the first time anyone had said that to her there. Not to mention the ant-farm-like pedestrian patters that ebb and flow as traffic slows or speeds up there.
Spend much time there?
BTW: The 'word'?
