What a nice video clip. I too, want to wish happy birthday to that conductor and I don't even know him. These are the guys and gals that make the MBTA and MBCR function, not those in six figure positions in downtown Boston who relish the spotlight. It seems Beacon Hill is catching on to those who do little more than crave media coverage of themselves at the doomed MBTA and DOT.
"We have officials come here and give us a lot of PR, a lot of spin, and don't give us a chance to ask questions," Sen. Robert Hedlund R-Weymouth, said after the hearing. -- "MBTA offers apologies, not answers" Gatehouse News Service 04-13-11.
Hedlund is introducing a bill to the legislature to properly fund the MBTA? No?
Sounds like Hedlund is the one posturing and posing and whining about not getting special exposure if he has no firm plans to address the central problem of the T.

And not one fare was collected.

You might want to upgrade to one of the newer ones that has more than VGA graphics - you'd see him punching a ticket as the riders are singing to him.

I was on this train (7:40pm to Newburyport) and he collected all fares once the singing was over.
The man in the blue shirt on the left side of the video was the one who let us know it was the conductor's birthday. He even had a gift for the guy.

If they know it is Mr. Conductor's birthday, most of these riders have monthly passes, one would think.
That's what the T should be about, not Davey in the spotlight
