Does this mean that Varitek is the starting catcher now?

Seriously, rest in peace, kid. At least you passed doing something you loved.

How very sad.

But if you're gonna kick it at 21, at least it was quick, painless, and not at someone else's hand. The artist died doing his art.

Falling off roofs is something he loved? I think that's a bad way to rationalize it. Very sad incident, no good way to spin it.

At least you passed doing something you loved.

Time to retire it. Like a comedian (that I don't remember) said, heroin addicts also die doing something they love.

It's puzzling that some of you find humor in the early demise of somebody. Would you be so cavalier if it was someone close to you? Having been through a similar situation, I think you people are jerks (I'm being civil).

Don't forget that this is just people talking to a screen, not to a person.

The lesson here is that it could all end, for any of us, at any time, without warning. It doesn't matter if you're young, healthy, careful, at the top of your game. None of us know how much life we have left. Live it!

It's pretty ridiculous how that roof had access with no proper railings. Lawsuit waiting to happen.

Friends of mine have lived in that building for three or four years now, and although I've never been up on the roof, I'm pretty sure tenants are not supposed to be up there. It's the normal "we broke the lock and have roof access now!" gig

That was what my post originally said (was he even supposed to be up there?), but I edited it after I watched the video because everyone they interviewed talked about going on the roof like it was wide open.

and for use during an emergency only. Everyone in my building knows it, and those who don't abide get a visit from the condo board. What we have trouble with, however, are the neighboring college kids who hop over the railing on their deck and trespass to our roof. They do this to drink, probably make out, and yes, in one instance, make a movie.

It is very sad what happened to this young man. However, doing something stupid sometimes has terrible consequences - here, trespassing to an area clearly not intended for access.
