The Boston Licensing Board this week approved a Truman Parkway coffeehouse/ice-cream place that will include a seasonal outdoor patio.
Tom Papadopoulos is opening Bean & Cream a couple doors down from his Cappy's Pizza, at the intersection of Truman and Fairmount Avenue.
At a hearing on Wednesday, City Councilor Rob Consalvo said he can't wait for the grand opening and that it represents an extension of the dining renaissance over the tracks around Logan Square. He praised Papadopoulos for his community work. Nobody opposed ice cream.

Bean & Cream hosted the HP networking meeting for the month in a soft opening this week. If mom provides the pastries, it's promising.
They open for real Monday. I feel obligated to try their ice cream and test their WiFi speed.

I misread that, thinking it was going to be a shop dedicated to coffee ice cream. Growing up near Rhode Island got me hooked on the coffee ice cream/coffee milk scene.
