Kaz, what an incredibly insensitive comment. I hope that you never have to endure the pain and fear that anyone who knows this woman must be feeling.
I hope not either

But if I do, I hope I can still crack a joke about it at the time, because sometimes dark comedy is the best way to deal with the pain.
Yeah.

... but after watching both my parents die of the cancer, all I can do is make jokes at my dead parents expense. It cracks me and my wife up.
Is it wrong that we celebrate Dead Fathers Day in June ??
Too soon...

My dad would be the first to say something snide about me.
How about a young woman he didn't know?

There's a big difference between busting on your own and laughing at the bald misfortune of others. Was your dad the sort to laugh aloud when he saw an old woman fall and hurt herself, or when a neighbor with a family lost his job?
I would have let your initial comment pass without comment - everyone has their internal censors fail occasionally. But trying to defend the gaff as somehow equivalent to the good-natured ribbing between father and son? Just own up that it a tasteless joke - no more, no less.

Wow... my apologies to any of Amber's friends and family who happen to stumble upon this revolting display of childishness. I hope you know that there are a lot of people who are truly concerned for Amber. I personally am on two other JP neighborhood email lists, and the alert has been cross-posted on both of them.
Our hearts are with you, and we hope that Amber is found safely, and soon.
Thanks for posting, Adam.

On the Facebook group, it's been said that the recruiter was contacted and that she had not signed up for the Guard yet. The recruiter is helping with the search.
What kind of necessary medication is she missing?

It mentions she is in good mental health, so is she diabetic? Does she have seizures?
Yeah

Something else said she's in good physical health too, so I found it puzzling that she'd need necessary medication, but she's in good physical and mental health...

I dont know why but I get this feeling this girl is BiPolar and disappeared due to being "manic".
Being "healthy" is relative association. Many BP folks are "healthy" when taking their meds.
Just sayin and its just a hunch.
Job related?

They said on the radio this morning that she is a private investigator. My brother-in-law did that for a while - you can get into some very hairy situations. Hope this is just one of those "I needed a break, sorry to worry everyone" cases.
Well...

one can be in good physical and mental health and take medication for their blood pressure, for example, which is under control because of the medication.
