Nice: People who ate at a Not Your Average Joe's restaurant in August or September (raises hand here) may have had their credit-card information stolen.
A restaurant flack tried to paint a rosy picture, saying the theft probably affected "less than 1 percent" of the estimated 350,000 people who probably won't be returning to the restaurants anytime soon. So apparently the pain threshold these days is 3,500 people.

You are truly the bane of my existence.
Maybe I could get a short list of the companies that have not compromised my credit card information?

Its not over yet. My credit card number was used in Dublin, Ireland on Thanksgiving day and I have not even eaten in the restaurant since August 13. Why wasn't there any communication to affected customers? I could have shut down my card if I had known. They say they posted it on their website - big whoop - why would I go there?

We used a credit/debit card for a mid-September dinner. Our credit union noted the transaction and the time window and called us! It was pretty much the first we had heard about the whole mess. They beat the press reports by a couple of days.
They shut down the card and sent us a new one with new numbers for my husband. We were told that there were attempts to use it, but not successful ones since they had shut it down.
