A sidebar in the print version of the article says the T isn't installing hand sanitizer dispensers, because they wouldn't be able to maintain them.

They got that right. One appeared in a T station bathroom a few weeks ago, but it was no longer working after about 2 days.

But a hand sanitizer isn't as complicated. I say let them have a try at it!

According to Dr. Philip M. Tierno Jr., author of a book on germs and director of clinical microbiology at NYU, 80 percent of germs are transmitted by direct or indirect contact.
