UPDATE, 4/30/12: Man charged with the murder.
Colin Young reports a bludgeoning death tonight in an apartment at Tremont and Cunard streets. Brian D'Amico reports at least one of three suspects is in custody.
UPDATE: Boston Police report the victim was in his 50s and pronounced dead at the scene. "The preliminary investigation indicates that this was not a random incident."

ugh, i live like...right around the corner from this and whenever i hear about violent crime in the area it just really frightens me when i think about myself or my roommates walking home alone at night. i just try and remind myself that most violent crimes like this are provoked in some kind of way and are not done in cold blood. or at least that's what i hope.

this area is an epicenter of heroin abuse for Boston. Last year there was a major police action, Operation Tanglewood, that slowed down some of the problem.
While the "average" citizen will not be killed in this manner, it is unacceptable for us to view these horrific crimes with a nonchalant attitude.
This is should be the real working out of NIMBY, and not for anyone's neighborhood.
