The Southwest Corridor Park has the best porta potties

Toilet in the Southwest Corridor Park

DCR must be flush with success.

Not the most practical perhaps, but, ooh, shiny!

Brett Dikeman at JP Bikes spotted the new amenity the other day on the bike path by the Stony Brook T stop. He's promising an ice cream cone at JP Licks for the best caption for his photo.

That is the black toilet that used to be at Galway House.

it's a local toilet.

"Loo, I am your father"

I hope that it doesn't decide to lay waste to our planet!

May the Schwartz pee with you

Darth Crapper. I guess we *don't* know the power of the dark side.

That flushing sound you hear is all the white toilets moving to Brookline.

*win!*

Sleek, hidden plumbing, unisex ...

that all of the ads on the side of the page are suddenly for portable toilet rentals!

Anyhow, here's my submission:

"I gotta' take the human for a walk."

Seriously. The only other time i've seen a black toilet was at the Galway House before the bathroom renovation.

Urban version of "Take it to the dump"!

A rare sighting. Unlike most fungi, the Black Commode only forms fruiting bodies when a dry, mild winter follows a period of intense rainfall.

to annoy the most people possible, I reckon.

We saw it on Saturday and it was visible from almost anywhere right among the bike path, walking path, playground, basketball court, and Lamartine St sidewalk. Someone succeeded spectacularly well in being lazy/antisocial/inconsiderate.

Saw that yesterday with my four-year-old.

Funniest. Thing. Ever to four-year-old sensibility.

He also wanted to use it and I spend a long time explaining that it's not connected to any plumbing (and then what plumbing is).

If ever I saw one. Interesting though - as some have pointed out that's no ordinary toilet - I think that's Kohler's high end model. Not that it does anything special like have a built in bidet, heated seats or link to the internet to diagnose your health like some models in Japan - I think it just looks cool if you are into looking cool on the loo.

Only difference from your typical model is the extra $500 you'd pay to buy it.

I think it's got kind of a "Dynasty" vibe.

I can't speak for every other poster here on UHub, but apparently this is tickling the funny bones of a slighter older set as well. :)

Plainly a case of illegal dumping. Police are trying to solve it, but they have little to go on.

Someone must have brought this up from further South.

It's too early in the year to find Black Crappies that size this far north...

We stopped the highway, but they decided they'd put in the rest stop after all....

Hey, we've been complaining for years that Boston doesn't have enough public toilets!

It see receiving one of several fates:

1. fully installed, with working plumbing, atop the Great Dome on April 1

2. installed as a fountain in one of the modern sculpture areas of campus, complete with bronze plaque describing its contribution to world art history

3. thrown off the Green Building

4. Shipped to Cal Tech, postage due

Urban Composter

It's like, how much more black could this toilet be? And the answer is none. None more black.

Expect we'll be hearing from Whose Loos? any day now.
