One of last night's gun incidents leads to arrests
Boston Police report the arrest of four men for illegal possession of a gun and ammunition after 911 callers reports gunfire in the area of Fort Avenue in Roxbury.
Still under investigation are several other gun-related incidents across Dorchester and Roxbury that sent four people to the hospital, one in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the neck.
Police say the suspicion of officers responding to the 911 call was aroused by a car they saw racing away from the area:
Upon seeing the car, officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) in an effort to stop the car. However, instead of stopping, the operator of the green motor vehicle ignored the officers and their efforts to stop the motor vehicle. In short time, officers were able to stop the car in the area of Circuit Street. With the car stopped, officers approached the vehicle. While approaching the car, officers observed four occupants. Given the dangerous nature of the call and the possible presence of a firearm, officers ordered the occupants of the car to exit the vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, officers were unable to locate a firearm. Officers then retraced the path driven by the operator. A search of the streets enabled officers to locate and take possession of two firearms: one in the area of 124 Regent Street, the other in the area of 90 Regent Street.
Arrested: Curtis Sullivan, 24, Karon Washington, 18, Daquan Peters, 17 and Trae Jackson, 20, all of Boston.
Innocent, etc.
